Darco® Wound Care Shoe System is the product of choice when dealing with Wagner Grade 3 or greater ulcerations. Use Closed Toe model for Wagner Grade 2 or greater ulcerations. Four multi-density insoles allow for the ultimate in customization and precisely targeted off-loading. Ultra-soft Plastazote® lining provides a virtually friction-free contact surface that won’t exacerbate existing wounds. Genuine leather upper can be modified or cut away to provide even greater levels of pressure relief (Open-Toe only). Sold in pairs to eliminate discrepancies in shoe height and the potential associated knee and hip pain. Instructions for locating and uploading a particular area must be followed carefully.
Carefully fit the shoe so that the metatarsal heads are just in front of the rocker apex. These instructions involve:

-The grade of the ulcer (on the Wagner scale)
-The size and shape of the unloaded area
-The specific positioning of the four layers of insole materials before and after the ulcer closes
